Independent School Ski Championships

Most people have experienced some form of upset this year, with events or holidays being disrupted or cancelled due to the pandemic.

Part of the fun is the planning of a trip away, some celebration or just to meet with friends and family.  Looking forward to these events gets us through the ‘greyer’ days!

Even companies can suffer this disappointment – at MPI we are heavily involved in school race events, from ski and snowboard racing in the winter through to dinghy and kite surfing, based more in the summer.

Sponsoring these events keeps us in touch with our customers and clients, supporting and watching new talent blossom.

This year and probably into next year, many race events have and will be cancelled, denying kids the social and competitive interaction that they provide.

MPI will miss these too; escaping the office to join the hullabaloo of excited competitors, teachers and parents as they train and prepare for the races, either up the mountain or by the coast, the enjoyment is the same.

Today would have been the first day of racing at the prestigious Independent Schools Ski Championships run by Halsbury Travel and below is a video showing highlights from the previous years to give you a taste of what might have been.

For the video, please see below.

Two other events we are involved with – The British School Girls and British School Boys races that were planned for early 2021 have also cancelled, which is of course disappointing for all.

Let’s hope things will get back to normal soon.
