Who's Who

There are usually six organisations involved in the process of selling and servicing a Travel or Ski Insurance policy.

The Tour Operator who sells the policy to the customer or in some cases it is included with the holiday.

The Insurance Broker advises the Tour Operator about Travel Insurance and how their scheme could be structured and negotiates on their behalf with underwriters for premiums and cover.

An underwriter is a person who works for a Travel Insurance Company who underwrites Insurance on behalf of the Company. They set the premiums and terms, and negotiate with the Broker.

An Insurance Company takes premium in exchange for accepting risk, which may result in a claim under the policy.
